2020: Student Juried Art Show

The year 2020 is a time to focus on the future and reflect on the past. It heralds in a new decade, an election year, and the potential for new cultural and political milestones. Although the focus for this year's show was chosen before the coronavirus pandemic, it became a defining theme of 2020 that many entries address.

Students at the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University were invited to submit works of art that explore the theme 2020. The works featured in this show were selected by a committee of students on the Spencer Student Advisory Board with input from Curator Joey Orr.

Three submissions for this year's show received Brosseau Art Awards: Genevieve Prescher for Birthday Party for an Onion, Shannon Maltbie-Davis for Quarantine Entertainment, and Taylor Miller for I Feel. The awards are supported by a fund established by Jack and Lavon Brosseau.
