  1. Describe three different kinds of lines you see. (Lines can be long, short, diagonal, vertical, horizontal, straight, curved, squiggly, crisp, blurred, parallel…)
  2. What lines are part of nature?
  3. Which lines are human-made
  4. Are the colors artificial or realistic?
  5. What do you notice first when you look at this picture?
  6. Why does your eye go there first?
  7. Besides the golden tan color, what has the artist repeated?
  8. Do you think this photography was taken from an airplane or on the ground?
  9. How do you think the artist feels about the prairie?
  10. Compare and contrast the map-like qualities of Ron Hinton’s three dimensional landscape sculpture with Terry Evan’s aerial photograph. Consider weather you would classify either of these works as realistic or abstract works of art.
