Celebrate spring with an afternoon of live music and performances, film screening, art exhibitions, art-making activities for all ages, refreshments, and student art for sale.

Presented by the Spencer Museum of Art, SMA Student Advisory Board, and Student Union Activities. This event is supported by KU Student Senate.

Opening reception for It Starts with Art from 1-3 PM:
Featuring works from the Spring ’08 Children’s Art Appreciation Classes. SMA Lobby Gallery

Hands-on activities:
Explore the Russian artist El Lissitzky’s machine-inspired prints with your family, following a self-guided activity. Bring that knowledge with you to the Central Court where you can construct your own Machine Man together or individually.

Find inspiration in the Resounding Spirit: Japanese Contemporary Art of the 1960s; discover the processes these artists invented to create their paintings. In the Central Court, use the process of calligraphy to paint your own process piece.
