Kids' Programming

  • Children's Art Appreciation Class, April 2008
    It Starts with Art!

    Our entertaining, interactive programs for children ages 5-14 combine art education with hands-on creation. Each week, students explore selected art works in the museum and make their own art based on the techniques, media and traditions they discover.

  • Sonic Stories II: Music Into Art
    Sonic Stories II: Music Into Art

    Cory Hills directs his second Music into Art workshop for children ages 7 – 12 using original works of art to inspire children to create their own percussive stories. The four-day workshop will culminate with a free public concert March 18 at 6 PM.

  • Spring Arts Festival, May 2008
    Spencer Family Days

    The Spencer offers special Family Days throughout the year in conjunction with exhibitions. Hands-on activities, family guides to the exhibitions, performances, and kid-friendly films encourage a fun family-oriented atmosphere at the museum.

    The Spencer offers a variety of additional activities for children and families including a self-guided gallery monthly activity available during museum hours and several online activities.
