Family Activity: What a Wonderful World
Saturday, May 25: 10:30 – 11:30 AM (ages 5-8 / no registration necessary)
Explore water, plants, and animals in art. Take a family-friendly tour through the Museum with SMA staff to learn about art and the environment, then create your own sun art print.
Spencer Art Cart
Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM & Sundays: 12:00 – 4:00 PM
The Spencer Art Cart is a fun, fresh, and free drop-in art program available during gallery hours every Saturday and Sunday. Designed for children and families but open to everyone, the Art Cart changes monthly to highlight a different gallery and feature a new, self-guided art activity. You’ll learn about a selected work from the SMA collection, and then create your own art based on that experience. Spend as little or as much time on your project as you like.
Kids' Gallery Guides
Available during Museum hours
Tour the museum with your family and friends. A selection of self-guided gallery guides for youth & family audiences are available at the Information Desk. Each guide comes with an activity and art-making materials to create your own work of art at home.
Soutwest Middle School "Bulldog" Podcasts
Available during Museum hours
See the Spencer through young eyes by touring the galleries as you listen to audio podcasts by eighth-graders at Lawrence’s Southwest Middle School. Download the files for your own player on our website or check out a pre-loaded iPod at the front desk when you visit the Museum.
