Homecoming 2009 @ the Spencer features special activities for KU alumni & fans

Lawrence, KS – In celebration of Homecoming 2009 the Spencer Museum of Art will offer special tours led by Director Saralyn Reece Hardy and free art projects for children and teens on Saturday, October 10.

Museum Director Hardy will personally lead a series of lively, brief gallery tours titled "15 Minutes of Fame!" highlighting the exhibition Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture, and the 1980s. These "15 Minutes of Fame Tours" (15 minutes per session) are scheduled for 10 AM, 10:30 AM, and 11 AM (KU versus Iowa State football kickoff is at 11:30 AM).

Visitors are also invited to remember their Homecoming '09 Day on the Hill by having a picture taken in the Museum's vintage photobooth with our ultimate campus celebrity, the Jayhawk! (Photobooth is $2 per sitting, four photos per strip.)

For younger visitors, the SMA education staff will offer free art projects (art supplies and supervision free of charge). To participate in the activities, children and teens should visit the Museum any time before or after the game on Saturday.
