Native Son, Local Threads: Quilts Inspired by Richard Wright

The whole experience has been great. It was fun creating this quilt. To be celebrating Richard Wright’s 100th birthday is special. Wright has written many wonderful novels, such as Black Boy, Native Son, and Rite of Passage, along with thousands of haikus. In our piece, the open road worked well.

I like this haiku because of the one road trip I went on. My experience with this piece of work was fun and enjoyable. I hope to do it again another time.
