Loan: Collection of Steven Schmidt Lucioni was born in Malante, Italy and moved to the U.S. in 1911. He studied in New York at the Cooper Union Academy and at the National Academy of Design. Lucioni often traveled to Vermont, where he studied the rural landscape. Hay would not normally be stacked loosely outside of the barn like this. Perhaps this is surplus, the barn being already full.
