Dickerson, from El Dorado, Kansas, was a student of Clarence Hotvedt at the School of the Wichita Art Association. He later studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught at the Wichita Art Association and was a member of the Prairie Print Makers (Seaton). This is a straightforward image of a farmer doing chores in the Kansas winter.
