Cheffetz was a master of wood engraving. He was born in Buffalo, New York, and studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and the National Academy of Design. His career was dedicated to images of rural New England, as seen in this image of a farm with an octagonal, wooden stave silo. The farmhouse here is of the type know as a “New England large house.”
