This exhibition features 138 objects from the Spencer Museum of Art’s collection and is organized by the Spencer in partnership with the Watkins Community Museum of History.
Dias de los Muertos is a time during the first two days of November when Mexicans remember their dead. This observance has roots in indigenous American and European traditions. Mexicans commemorate their deceased loved ones by decorating graves and altars, and sharing food with the spirits of the dead. The exhibition features an ofrenda (altar), wood toys, calaveras (skeletons), photographs, papel picado (cut-paper design), and handmade Mexican crafts.
