University in the Art Museum

Friday, April 20, 9 AM – 12 PM

The spring 2012 University in the Art Museum (UAM) workshop will introduce faculty to the many opportunities available for object-based teaching, learning, and research through collaborative partnerships with the Museum. The workshop will feature examples of course-related engagement with the Museum by faculty members from departments across campus, as well as an exercise in the museum galleries to identify ways the Spencer’s diverse collections and resources can further your own scholarly endeavors. Other activities include an introduction to teaching possibilities in the Print Room and the Teaching Gallery, an overview of the Museum’s online database and other electronic resources, and of related KU Library resources. The workshop will also include a chance to share research interests with Spencer Museum staff other colleagues at the Spencer; we look forward to generating new collaborative initiatives!

Coming Fall 2012

A separate UAM session for graduate students will be held during the fall semester. Please contact Lindsey Waugh, academic@ku.edu, for further information.
