The Spencer Student Advisory Board at The University of Kansas serves as the liaison between KU students and the Spencer Museum of Art. Comprising students from diverse disciplines, levels and courses of study, the SSAB commits to the following agenda:
The theme for this year’s Juried Student Art Show is Connection-Misconnection. This theme revolves around the notion that in today’s fast-pace world, where information and communication is literally at all of our fingertips. Social networking, internet blogs, cell phones, etc. all provide a much greater opportunity to communicate with people at a distance and speed than in any other time in history. This fact not only engenders a larger sense of connection among individuals around the world, but also increases the chances for misconnection and misunderstanding among communicators.
