Dr. Marilyn Stokstad, Judith Harris Murphy Distinguished Professor Emerita of Art History, created The Marilyn J. Stokstad Spencer Museum of Art Student Award to honor undergraduate and/or graduate students who have made major contributions to the mission of the Spencer Museum. The recipient of this annual award is selected by the museum staff members.
Chassica Kirchhoff
While an intern at the Spencer Museum of Art for several years, Chaz did outstanding research in many areas of the museum's collections, ranging from medieval armor to the Herb & Dorothy Vogel collection that recently came to the museum. She was also the primary organizer of two exhibitions and she contributed to many others.
Ellen Raimond
Ellen Cordero Raimond is currently serving in her third advanced-level graduate internship at the SMA. A doctoral candidate in the history of art, she brings a high degree of academic knowledge and professionalism. She has worked on a number of exhibitions, served as the inaugural intern for our new Andrew W. Mellon academic programs department, and played integral roles in the planning of Project Redefine, in addition to other initiatives. Ellen’s charismatic personality, thoughtfulness, and creativity have been key assets during her tenure.
Lauren Smith
Lauren Smith is an undergraduate student double majoring in art history and business. She began volunteering for the Spencer in the summer of 2010. That fall the Museum hired Lauren as the student development assistant. Serving a vital role assisting museum staff , she stays focused and remains cheerfully versatile. Lauren performs at an exceptional level; her work is distinguished by reliability, efficiency, and thoughtfulness. She approaches tasks, large and small, with attention to detail, a positive attitude, and an eagerness to contribute and learn new things.
