Scanning Questions:

1. Where do you see horizontal lines and vertical lines?
2. What kinds of shapes and textures do you see?
3. Where are the darkest areas, and where are the lightest areas?
4. What objects are repeated?
5. How has the artist shown that some people are close and some are farther away?
6. Do you think the artist had the people pose for him, or did he capture this moment in action?
7. Do you think this is a quiet scene, or is it noisy? What noises might you hear in a parade?
8. Does this look like a new town, or a town with history? Why do you think so?
9. Compare and contrast the subject and composition of these two photographs.
